Fernando`s Restaurant in Chicago

This is my go to sit down Mexican place. Great margaritas! The fajitas, burritos, and enchiladas are perfect. My girlfriend got some sort of crazy spicy lava thing she said was good. You can’t go wrong with any of the sides. Typical restaurant atmosphere.

Fantastic Margaritas and guacamole. Outside seating allows for social distancing. Great staff, very attentive and friendly. My new fave spot on Lincoln!

The food is excellent and the service is very good too.

Purchased a Groupon for a $100 gift card. Spoke to 2 people who both denied it could be used. Wasted time and money.

My absolute favorite spot for dinner. I have been ordering Take out now that we have the stay at home order. Their food has still been fresh and tasty!

I liked the food and music at Fernando's!DETAILS*AMBIENCE*The restaurant is cavernous with plenty of seating for any size party. The Latin music is upbeat and super energizing!*SERVICE*My service wasn't great but it was not bad. I would describe it as passive and inattentive. Once the waiter had given me water and chips and salsa he never came back. I had to walk up to the bar with the menu and order. *FOOD* I ordered the Shrimp Chimichurri with refriend beans and mixed vegetables. It was fantastic! Everything. Also, their salsa is house made and absolutely delicious.*VALUE*My meal was $19. That's good pricing and a good value!*OVERALL*I recommend Fernando's and would dine here again when in the area.

Good food and powerful margaritas!

I come here pretty often. The food and service are always great.

They treat their employees real bad. One of the employees had two funerals to go to in less than a year and the manager asked him to leave the funeral early ro come in to work. Ridiculous

Fernando's, how I really wanted to like you. There was a great ambiance and energy, the place was packed and lively. The decorations were authentically Mexican and you branded yourself as a tequila bar. What could go wrong? Once we got in the wait was actually pretty reasonable, it only took four of us ten minutes to get a table. However, we didn't get menu's for another 20 minutes, drinks (other than water) for 50 and it took a staggering hour and a half to get our food. It wasn't just us, our whole section was way behind, and waited forever on our food. The worst part was we could see people who got in well after us getting served earlier. When we finally got the meal we had basically filled up on margaritas chips and salsa, and 3 of us had warm (not hot) food. What is the point of waiting if you don't even get hot food? The dishes tasted good, but it wasn't really worth all the time spent there. The Tequila was average and expensive.

Margaritas are freshly made! Great, consistent food! Try the fried ice cream!

Nice place! Clean and nice atmosphere. Smart use of space, creating a separate bar area and dining area. Service was excellent, food was perfect and served quickly.... AND the Margaritas were STRONG! Busy for a Sunday afternoon...it's no surprise and it's nice to see!

Great service at the bar. They work mainly with reservations on the weekends at least so call ahead or sit at the bar. Excellent service and food either way!

Was seated quickly but spent at least 20 minutes waiting for a waiter to come by. Many passed by but never stopped. So we got up and left.

Great Mexican food. Fresh ingredients, masterfully cooked, and served by a fun friendly staff. This is a fun place for dinner, or just to watch sports. Plenty of TVs in the bar.

Needed some quick take-out tortilla soup and was in and out in a flash

The service was good. No complaints about the service. My biggest complaints are about the size of the guacamole and queso (compared to the price) and the blandness of the vegetarian food that we ordered. The vegetables were all bland and that made for less than appetizing entrees. A bit of seasoning and sauces would have done wonders for the dishes. The menu offers options for vegetarians, but it doesn’t deliver on flavor.

Great food, great service, cozy atmosphere! Workers here have been around for as long as I've been coming here which is about 7 years now.

Place looks like a fancy Mexican restaurant. Atmosphere is good. Food was ok. Definitely overpriced for the quality. Everything came out absolutely mild. Even the jalapenos were not spicy. Had to pull out a bottle of hot sauce to salvage the situation. Seemed understaffed on a Sunday evening. Had to ask server for condiments 3 times because she was just too busy. Overall the meal should have been a third of what was paid. Needless to say would not come back.

Great place to go out and eat with the while family. They have great food, good prices and friendly service. The tequila is also a plus. 😀

We had an amazing time at Fernando's! We had a large group and they were extremely accommodating. The food was delicious! I ordered fajitas and they came to the table on an enormous skillet. I had tons of leftovers. They had a nice list of tequilas and my waiter was very helpful in picking something to sip on. The fried ice cream was sweet and crunchy and definitely fulfilled my sweet cravings. We can't wait to go back to Fernando'.

I have seen this place driving by Lincoln. I thought it looked cool, and I decided to give it a try. I took a couple of friends with me. We asked for a mezcal margarita with real lime juice. The bartender thought we were not paying attention and used a mixer. We tasted it, and it was pretty bad. We asked kindly what he used in it. He said they made they own Mixer. We asked him to remake it with real lime juice. He said he can made a skinny margarita and put some soda on top. We told him no soda. As he was making the margarita he still put soda. He served us the margarita and it was like lemon juice. This was the worse margarita I have ever had, and I had to pay as if it was a premium margarita. It’s too bad because the place has so much potential. It is beautiful inside. I don’t think we will be coming back here.

Edit to my review: their food has drastically gone downhill. The guac is just okay, ceviche is no longer on the menu and chips aren't made in house or special anymore. They also pulled some not cool trick by charging 50% more for margaritas for the day after Cinco de Mayo without telling anyone. It was pretty bullshitty.Awesome margaritas that will knock you off your ass! I used to love The guacamole and ceviche together, and their chips, which were made in house and simply incredible, but they changed the menu and the food just isn't great all around. I think their salsa is made in house though - also some of the best I've had. Margaritas are great though.

We heard this place was a "good" place. While in reality it was the exact opposite the food was terrible and extremely over priced especially for the pieces we got. The waiter we got had the worst face possible and made us feel weird to even be in that restaurant. However both buster we're amazing people get Juan as your buster and if he's promoted as your waiter! Overall I wouldn't ever go back. I would rather go to another Mexican restaurant

Amazing delicious food n great Margaritas. The servers are attentive, knowledgable, n really helpful, n what's important they give u time to decide n they will help u with the process. Great job Fernado's, u r my new favorite ;)

Feb. 8th is my B-day. Fernando's is where I wanted to be, and that's where my husband took me. We've been going there for years & we absolutely love this restaurant. The fact that you are remembered when you arrive any where...is in and of itself pretty awesome. Food is consistently great, margaritas always flippin' awesome. There's no reason to go anywhere else. TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT!!!!!!

Margaritas are so strong. Don't attempt more than 2! The food is just okay but I stop by for chips and salsa and a margarita occasionally
